The Family Fitness Guru helps inner city families

Making a difference in the world around me is why we exist, right? Whether it’s helping you get ideas to keep your families fit and healthy or reaching out to the less fortunate with a family fitness night, those are quite fulfilling to me.
What an exciting evening I had! Last night I held the first ever “Training by Liz Cleveland Family Fitness Outreach,” This was a free class for the low-income families of Cleveland’s near West Side that the Nueva Luz Urban Resource Center and MyCom service.
The most heart-warming experience for me was when a grandmother confided in me that her 11-year-old granddaughter, weighing over 200 pounds, was recently diagnosed as diabetic. She looked eager and hopeful as she expressed her passion of helping her granddaughter as much as she could despite her own exhaustion and poor health. This woman cares so deeply for her grandchild.
That young girl can use your help and others like her. Here is an opportunity to sponsor a child with the world’s most clinically researched whole foods supplement. Here is more info on it, and please spread the word! These families have very little access to fresh produce. Fast food and convenience stores are where they shop and it is no wonder that diabetes is affecting them at such a young age. They also need a lot of education to help steer them in the right direction (who doesn’t?).

Here’s a little video sampling what we did. At the end of our physical games, we had a 10-minute discussion on the “5 Nutritional Disasters for Families to Avoid.”
