Guru-Approved Chive Veggie Dip

By

If they only had Guru-Approved dip, they'd have had a much happier picnic.

Party season is in full swing this month, especially with the advent of Memorial Day.  That means cookout season is approaching, at least in Cleveland, and heavy high-starch salads will soon land on many a picnic table.

So, why not arm yourself with healthy alternatives to mayonnaise and sour cream dips and dressings?  Why not include a protein-rich, low-fat and hormone-free Greek yogurt and enjoy the creamy texture it produces for your favorite condiment?

Why not be both the envy and the delight of your fellow picnickers?

Here’s a super simple, delicious and very healthy Guru-Approved Chive Veggie Dip that will have your guests gushing with gustatory delight.

Use it as the base for those veggie pizzas that everyone thinks is healthy despite the chemical-laden or high-fat cream cheeses and white flour crusts.  (I’ll have to post a Guru-Approved Veggie Pizza…)

Use it as a dip for the crudites platters or a dollop on your turkey wrap sandwich -and don’t forget the sprouts and tomatoes.  And chives are in season, so what are you waiting for?!

This simple recipe is as versatile as it is delicious.  Okay, enough hype…here goes:

Guru-Approved Chive Veggie Dip

1/2 c Greek yogurt (make sure it’s rGBH-free)

1T chopped chives

1T grated Parmasean cheese

If you’re pressed enough for time and don’t see the need to wash extra bowls, just mix all the ingredients right in the yogurt container. Your dip is best when chilled for at least several hours to blend the flavors.  Enjoy!
