I was recently inspired by Dr. Kwame Brown, Executive Director for the International Youth Conditioning Association. He suggested to the IYCA members a couple fun, active games he plays with his young students. This particular video shows one of these games and is adapted to my smaller children (ages 5 and 3), who don’t get the concept yet of holding onto a rope and keeping their bodies on the towel (wakeboard style).

They really insisted on sitting together, which made it impossible for them to be on the towel in different positions.  So, I pulled them around and got a great burst of exercise in while they had to stabilize themselves on the towel.  Most importantly, we all had a great time.  Isn’t that what exercise should be?  How can you adapt this for your children? Next time, I’m trying a slightly different method to get them to move around more. And I’ll be sure to post a little video…

My friends, Monica and Hari, have recently welcomed their baby son, Colin, into the world.  This is one fit family!  Monica spent her pregnancy working full time, tending her home and beloved dog as well as taking care of herself.  She worked out faithfully and was quite judicious about her nutrition.

Hari is no stranger to fitness, having formerly coached tennis to many athletes and an avid exerciser himself, despite his crazy-busy schedule.

10 weeks ago, Colin was born.  Monica happily experienced a drug-free, quick and easy delivery, the kind every expectant mom desires.

Together they offer simple words of advice to all expectant parents, especially moms-to-be.
