The Family Fitness Guru teaches outdoor fun!
Posted by: | CommentsAs the weather is becoming more beautiful by the day, it’s so refreshing to take our workouts to the outdoors. As a family, exercise can and should be fun! Take a look at this video of some Lakewood, Ohio families enjoying outdoor fitness as I taught them some fun and helpful moves.
Also, many thanks goes to my friend Jana, who sent along this link to an outdoor activity guide for families. These wonderful tips (in a beautifully designed layout) are sure to spark the fires of outdoor activity in your family’s life. Take a look at it here:

What do you think: are TV and video games to blame for childhood obesity?
Posted by: | CommentsThe CDC says that 17% of our nations kids (ages 6-19) suffer from obesity – not just being overweight, but being obese. They define obesity as having a body mass index (BMI) at or above the 95 percentile for kids of the same age and sex.
This is your chance to chime in on a very heated topic. I’ve already posted the question to some folks on an email. Now, I’d like to hear from more of you. Do you have kids yourself? If so, do you believe television and video games are part of the problem? What do you think is/are the factor(s) behind the child obesity rate, which is showing a trend toward growing?
Be sure to write down your city.
