“Corporate industry knows that if they remove the comparison that small families can do a better job then they can at producing food and keeping people healthy, then no matter how many food-borne illnesses you have per year, it won’t matter because it will seem normal.”
-Tim Wightman of Yore Farms, Arcana, Ohio

Your homework is to reflect on the above quote and watch this video.  Also, be sure to read my articles on Parts 1 & 2 “Why is Raw Milk So Controversial?” The first article describes the law a bit more and the second part goes into details on the benefits of raw dairy.

    Here’s to good health -cheers!

Fascinating, Liz. I especially clued into the part about the raw milk dairyman being able to set a price that worked for him. Obviously, no one gives the government monopoly on pasteurized milk a second thought (except farmers). Who ever speaks of it? Yet they dictate every part of its production, right down to the price that farmers get. I once spoke to a dairy farmer in Iowa who told me his milk got processed in Texas (even though they had plenty of facilities in Iowa), because the government demanded that a certain amount of milk should flow from every state. Their quotas were the most important part of the equation, with no thought towards nutritional values or eco-friendliness.

I noted in your written article that the raw dairy farms in California have a near-perfect record of healthy consumption of their products (despite being closely watched by our concerned government). If we all were able to buy locally, we would know where our food came from, and if there ever was an issue with contamination, we would certainly be able to trace the cause and correct the problem, rather than universally banning all of a certain item (spinach, tomatoes, peanuts). God bless the local farmer, and may the giant agri-businesses fade away and leave us a better, healthier world.
